I broke this spring on an upper recently and was wanting to replace it, but I have a few questions first.

Do I need to push the cover pin towards the muzzle end or towards the buttstock?

Do I need to remove the snap ring or can I get it out by tapping the pin towards the muzzle?

I'm really hoping I can just remove the ring and push it towards the rear of the rifle enough to put the new spring in.  I have a DD Lite rail on this build and removing those are a PITA, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Any suggestions are appreciated.  I read thru the tacked threads but I couldn't find any info on this.  Sorry if I missed it.  Thanks in advance.

Yup, pull the ring, slide it to the rear.  May take a bit of fenagling arounf the FA if you have one, but you should be fine.

Thanks for Help!  That was much easier than I had anticipated.
