either i'm a moron or there is something wrong with the stock. how does the metal clamp fit tight to the rear of the receiver? the buffer tube is screwed all the way in

that looks like part of the M4 SOCOM, if it is, it doesn't use the rifle receiver extension like the one in your pic

does it have the split at the top of the reinforcement ring?

looks like the wrong part to me and I would send some pics of it back to Ace, if Delton won't take care of it for you.

Looks to me like you got the wrong clamp with yours. Looking at the drawings on their site, it seems the clamp should be cut out for the flange on the buffer tube. Yours isn't.

Question.

How does it fit together if you put the thick plate thingy on first, and then try to screw on the buffer tube?

It looks like without the plate thing, you have nothing to secure your takedown detent spring.  I've never assembled an ACE stock on an AR15, so maybe I'm missing something.
