Is an AP lower decent for my next build?
I saw one at the local fun shop and I am thinking about getting it. I want an SBR in a bad way. I think they are totally sexy in black and tan. I have read that most lowers are manufactured in only a few places, but the fit and finish are better on some. I currently have a DPMS lower with a 16" LMT upper and it is a nice mesh. I eventually want an LMT lower so I have the complete LMT rifle. For some reason I think that is better but probably more in my head. Thanks |
| I bought a Surplus Arms and Ammo lower (which is manufactured by Aero Precision) from AIM and it is gtg. The anodizing was little light (apparently this is a Surplus A&A issue NOT an issue with all AP produced lowers) but its within spec and the rear takedown pin hole is threaded (so you can cap it with a set screw for easier disassembly/assembly). Good attention to detail. Buy with confidence, they make a nice lower. |
| +1; as others have said, buy with confidence. Interesting article about AP at 230grain.com: here. |
