I own several of their V2 Nitride bcg's, all have been 100% after several thousand rds. Tomac +1 on the V2. I've had no issues with mine either. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile +5 on the V2 nitride. Mine have all been GTG. I've recommended it to a couple of co-workers and theirs have all been GTG, too. Disappointing news on the V2's though. Bryan at AIM said they were having vendor issues on this particular BCG and it might "done" (his words). Hopefully, they can get their issues straightened out or find another vendor to keeps this version alive. |

Ive had their NiB, standard phosphate and V2 nitride. They all functioned well for me but the NiB flaked on the front of the top carrier rails after a few hundred rounds. I traded the NiB and V2 away with their uppers awhile back.
Still using the phosphate with a Sprinco extractor spring and it's ticking along just fine in a 16" Freedom upper. I personally didn't see a huge difference in cleaning between the 3 finishes, except the NiB when really wet actually does just wipe clean with a paper towel. |
| There's probably no way to know absolutely how many AIM BCG's are out there, but other than factory delivered BCG's in factory guns, I'd wager that they have provided as many aftermarket BCG's as any other outfit out there. As to who makes them?...probably not one manufacturer. I'm speculating here totally, but it might explain how AIM offers their BCG's at a good price. That doesn't mean it's a bad thing, but it may also be impossible to predict performance/reliability with certainty. That said, I have 3 of their BCG's...phosphate, nitride, and NiB. Even the finish on the NiB is still pristine after hundreds of rounds. I think running suppressed is one of those issues that can challenge some NiB finishes from what I see occasionally here on the site. Fail Zero and WMD and maybe some others seem to have a better handle on the NiB process. |
| I have a EVO 3.0 and the only issue I have so far with it is, it will not pop open my dust cover when I'm pulling the charging handle. The dust cover does crack open by about 2MM or so. If I let the bolt slam forward by releasing it, so far, that action will then pop open the cover. I do not know how it functions yet. Hopefully find out soon. |

What type of failures were you experiencing? it was a couple years ago, and I honestly cant remember. I have built a few guns and run into so many different problems since then. I just remember it was my first build and I swapped bcgs with my M&P and both guns worked after that. I still have the Aim bcg in the M&P. I do remember that the Aim Bcg seemed really tight in the lower it was malfunctioning in. could have been something as simple as not enough lube, but I was pretty green with AR's. |

I just got one of their NiB EXO bolt carrier groups and I'm very impressed with it. I'll be taking it to the range this weekend! Have you seen a FZ or WMD to compare it to? I might grab one. I have not unfortunately... but if you would like any specific pictures taken for your own comparison then let me know. |
