Can't go wrong with Aimpoint. The Comp M2 is a great sight and the batteries last a long time... plus they can take a hell of a beating.

Running M2s on three rifles right now, two of which are duty guns. Love 'em, but I'd save your money on the killflash. Larue LT-129 is my preferred mount.

I'd consider anything other than the Aimpoint a step down in reliability and serviceability.

The ML3  gets you better battery life and the M4 has an even longer battery life and increased robustness.

Ya pays yo money and makes your choices...

I'm running an ML2 currently.  The newer models have longer battery life but it wasn't enough to make me switch.  I was considering a T1 for a long time because of the size and weight and just recently decided to stick with my ML2 for the long haul.  Overall you can't go wrong with any of the Aimpoint products.

A side note.  I was on a frantic search for the 1/3 N battery one night and had no luck at Home Depot, Wal Mart, CVS or Walgreens.  I finally found one at radio shack 1 minute before closing.  Moral of the story - keep a few spares handy just in case.  They last a LONG time but eventually they will go dead.

The ACE hardware near me carries DL 1/3Ns.

The aimpoint double battery module may be a good investment as well.

One of the very nice things about the Larue Aimpoint mounts (30mm tube) is the watertight, insulated storage capsule for a spare 1/3N battery...

Another good to go vote for the Aimpoint M2 shown here with an optional LaRue LT129 cantilever QD mount with sealed battery compartment

I had been using mine for over five years now without any problems, bright dot even on a hot desert summer day, good battery life, water resistant and a very robust tube construction.

I'm a little biased because I'm a long time Aimpoint user since my first one a model 2000 way back in 1989, I used it on my .45 ACP 1911 and other semi auto rifles, no problems.
