| I was searching but couldnt find anything. I have a comp m3 4moa with the LaRue standard 150 mount and was looking into putting the 3x module on with the pivot mount and wanted to know if anyone has this set up with some pictures or feedbck. This will be on a standard flat top |

I run Aimpoint 2X with the 3X MAG, and also a 1X with the 3X MAG. I use Sampson flip mounts. The only issue you may have with the BIG 4 MOA dot is that when it is magnified 3 times it will be too large for targets past 50 yards which is probably why you want a 3X MAG in the first place. My favorite setup, which is on my AR-10(T) Carbine is the 2 power Comp C, with the 3X MAG behind it. I can go from clearing a room with both eyes open to sniping at 100 yards with 6 power in an instant! I prefer the 1 MOA dot behind the 3X mag rather than anything larger. I have the 4MOA with3x and it is just fine. It isnot a sniper rifle, it is designed to get the job done. With the 2MOA "I" (but everyone is differnt) had a hard time seeing the dot when not magnifed. The 4MOA covers a bit more (twice as much) but not like I am trying to shoot the ass off of a nat at 200 yards. Just ding the gong. If one wants a precesion rig, a real scope is what you should look at. I have a Leupold Mark4 2.5-8 on a 308 DPMS, with a Larue LT-137 mount and a 7MOA docters optic for this configuration (the docters optic shouldbe here Monday atleast). Not mine but here is the 150 mount  I went the route of the cantilever mount for a little more adjustability in the 3x optic mounting and setup. This is mine.

I have the ARMS mount for my CompM3 and the GG&G for the 3x. I am not bashing LaRue, but, the QD setup from GG&G is what attracted me to their solution. I had a HK made 3x clone for a while (still do on another rifle) until I get ahold of the read deal. I do not mount my scope so close to my Aimpoint, though. I have not noticed any issues with either. |
