I have an aimpoint pro on top of my ar15 with a QD mount and a spacer/riser in between the optic and the QD mount. I have found that with my rifle and butt stock it would be more comfortable and easier for me to have my eye line slightly lower so I took out the riser. I found the screws were too long to be used to secure my red dot back together without including the riser. I looked on the aimpoint website and did not find any shorter screws and I left a voice mail on their help line to get 2 shorter screws that would work with my mount but they do not open back until monday + whatever time it takes them to get to my voice mail and call me back. I was wondering if anyone knew where I could get shorter screws to match my mount or if this was a good/bad idea to begin with?

The aimpoint should have came with both long and short screws, mine did. I ended up preferring it with the spacer, take it to the range, then make your decision.

Pull everything out of the box.  The screws are usually stuck in the slots in the foam insert, but sometimes they drop into the bottom of the box.

The screws are 10/32 x 1/4 low socket cap screws.

10/32 thread pitch x 1/4" long and the head design is low socket

If you have a large, well stocked hardware store in the area you might find them. If not and  Aimpoint doesn't get back to you in a timely manner shoot me an IM with your mailing address and I'll send you a couple.
