why are aimpoints lacking in local stores? looking into getting one and went to bass pro, gander mountain and a few other gun stores and all they carried was eotechs.
finaly found a shop that had a FEW but only a few aimpoints and it was the higher end ones no aimpoint pros in stock but i think the comp m4 they had was the most comparable in size and looks just to see how it felt and looked on a rifle. |

Most LGS peddle cheap crap imo. For every aimpoint you see in pictures on this forum there are 10 guys out there with Wal-Mart optics. Optics in the sub 100 range simply move off the shelves quicker than the aimpoints. You're lucky yours carry eotechs. You reckon it's really 10 to 1 |

More like 20 to 1... Mark, I understand you are a pilot. Keep the shiny side up and stay safe! Signed, a controller One morning back in '08 I had to run some stuff to Ft. Worth for testing. I launched about 7:00 am and called Gray Approach for flight following. He came back with Navion so-and-so, squawk such and such and ident. I did. He came back with "I have you nine four alpha, you show cream and green on the scope, are those colors correct ?" ... Me - "Uh .." ... he paused and said that they had a new radar and the guys were busy there calibrating it and once again queried me as to the validity of the color match. I verified his colors ... with an "Uh, yeah, colors are correct but how ..." He laughed and said he made it to our fly-in the day before and had eye-balled the ol' girl and liked what he saw. |

We encouraged people to bring their HD rifles instead of purpose built 3 gun rifles. Of the 50 or so shooters, I saw 2 aimpoints and 3 eotechs. Everyone else was using lower end stuff. Vortex and PA were considered "high end" compared to what most were using. Lot of sightmark, bsa, etc. |
