For the love of god please don't flame me on this ............
I have owned several AR in my life all have been 1/7 all with a 1/9 twist ammo was never a problem with accuracy .But i acquired a rock rivers national match with a 1/8 twist barrel and now the accuracy bug has bitten me and its now part of my OCD ..
my questions to the brotherhood is this ....... What would be a appropriate weight bullet to use ? all information will be helpful as i have obtained several stories on this from "people" who i would consider to be of the mall ninja decent Thanks rich |

I don't have the money to do the "try bullets from 68-80 grains with every powder weight and type possible then pick the best one and throw out all the others." I have never had an issue with 75s... black hills red box is good commercial stuff. Ever tried it? If not, you should.
By the way, that wasnt meant to be a jab at the gentleman above, i made this simultaneously to him and was talking about hand loading. |

I still use a cheap Lee hand priming tool on some rifle loads and load them in a old single stage RCBS press. If your interested in the best your rifle will do you'll need to roll your own. You never said your intended use? If you'll be shooting service rifle competition? or just punching paper? hunting? I suppose a good all around load would be a quality 68-69 gr. BTHP at around 2950fps. It's about the middle ground compromise. |
