[ARCHIVED THREAD] - another retro question

I have a question on the NDS-XM16E1 receiver what is the back 3/32 roll pin for, I noticed the other recievers don't have them.

Originally, it was keeping the buffer tube from unscrewing. I t was later dropped as being un-necessary

And on the NDS it is purely cosmetic in nature. Thought I'd mention it, lest anyone be confused...

I am going to use mine as a pilot hole to drive a wood screw through.

That way if I ever need a screw, I'll know where to get one!
