Anyone here know the differences in the armalite EX0027 and the EX0029 scope mounts.  The 0027 is supposed to be new and improved, just wondering what the differences are?

You must be looking at their clearance page, eh?

The EX0027 is the 1" one-piece mount.  The EX0029 is a pair of 1" rings.  Both have thumbscrew semi-quick releases.  I don't know what they did to improve the EX0027 from the earlier version.  Both the mount and the rings are very sturdy.

You can see pics of them in their PDF catalog (warning - 10MB download!).

We've put a bit of a sale on to balance inventory.  We aren't dropping either mount.

The ArmaLites differ from the copies:  They're made to keep the scope centerline at the same point as the iron sights so that your stock weld will be the same.  The first guys to copy that mount "improved" it by making it higher, so that now your neck cranes to center on the scope.  The later guys seem to have copied the copies.

We use the knobs because they're much more forgiving of the dimensions on the upper receiver rails.  It allows them to work on all known competing rifles despite dimensional errors.  Lock levers are fast if you need it but aren't very forgiving.
