I'm building a varmint rifle and have decided on a Wilson air-guaged barrel.  Should I go with 20" or 24"?  I was thinking of a 20" but somebody was telling me that 24" is more accurate.  I thought it just created more velocity, and had no affect on accuracy.

This was the best price I could find www.gunsmokeenterprises.net/BARRLES%202.htm, but they apparently don't have the 20".  Anyone know of somewhere cheaper.

Barrel length does not affect accuracy all that much.  The extra velocity from the extra 4" will help shorten bullet travel time slightly so atmospheric conditions have less chance of affecting its trajectory.  But all things equal, a 20" barrel will be as accurate as 24".  The guy behind the rifle will have more of an influence than the 4" of barrel.

That's what I thought.  Funny how it only takes one guy to make you doubt what you already know.
