Awhile back I saw a video of installation of a forearm/barrel nut that did not require clocking of the nut. I seem to remember the nut had two grooves around the circumference that the forearm attached to. Anyone recall the brand of forearm/barrel nut.

What you're describing 'kind of' sounds like the Geissele SMR barrel nut. Is this it?

SLR Rifleworks barrel nuts are like that and have flats machined in for tightening...

Samson barrel nuts for 308s have flats machined in, no slots.

The barrel nut for the BCM KMR rails does not require clocking either

I made one for my 308 build it uses a pin spanner for tightening which is what that one pictured above does is my guess.

all of the cmmg rkm and revolution handguards look almost identicle to that

Diamondhead's handguards have a hex at the front end but otherwise look similar to the one pictured.
