Hi all,

Anyone know ~ how many rounds fired to get to 1100 degrees?

I was reading the Armalite tech doc about the m4 reaching a critical failure at temperature 1100 degrees.

If one were to fire on full auto or very fast bump fire how many rounds at 80 degrees ambient outside temp would it take to reach 1100 degrees?

I ask due to a friend that attached his bushy m4 5.56 1x9 upper to a selective fire lower (yes it was a legal lower) and they shot it until the barrel was white.

Thanks all,
Mortis...

You would have a catastrophic failure before you got there. @ about 700 degrees F would be about all she could take or get to.

ETA The gas tube woulb be the part to go as that would be much hotter than the bbl.
