Sounds like your next build will be an SPR? If so, I would also look at this barrel.
Spike's Tactical Lothar Walther SS, 18", 1:8 Polygonal Twist This is in between the DD and JP barrels you mentioned price wise. I honestly think that you would get the same type of accuracy from the Spike's and JP barrels. The DD barrel would still be very accurate but not as accurate as the JP and Spike's barrel I like the Spike's barrel because Lothar Walther makes some of the most accurate barrels around and Spike's enhances it by putting on a Nickel Boron Barrel Extension, fluting it and bead blasting it. I have the non fluted version and it is a shooter. It is definitely capable of sub MOA groups. |
| The barrels you listed have different purposes, the DD is hammer forged and chrome lined, better for higher round count\ longer lasting barrel but the lothar and JP should edge it out accuracy wise, to what degree? I'm not sure but chrome lined barrels are less accurate. |

I'm not sure but chrome lined barrels are less accurate. The 18" DD barrel is a nitride finish (better), not chrome lined. There is a lot of misprinted info on the net. I called DD up about it myself. DD does not have to leave room for the chrome lining, because they mill it to their dimensions and take it right to the salt nitride bath. |
