What is the best buffer and buffer spring on the market? My problem is that my CMMG M4 beats me up whenever i shoot the rifle its honestly not even fun to shoot because the recoil is very harsh. I have a Collapsible stock so im looking for recommendation for carbine length buffers and springs.

I was thinking about getting the DPMS Extra Heavy Counterweight Buffer from midway.com and using a sprinco Extra Power Chrome Silicon Carbine Buffer red spring. ($47.00)

or

The CMMGINC.COM Tungsten Buffer with a Chrome Silicon Carbine Buffer Spring ($50.00)

Any other suggestions or tips?

What caliber AR beats you up to the point that it is not fun to shoot?

sadly 5.56 / .223 I even switched AR-15's with a guy on the range his was smooth and had low recoil. However even he commented about my AR being hard to shoot. and recommended a new buffer and spring

Try the RRA 9MM buffer.  Worked wonders on my carbine.

Leave the recoil spring alone for now.

How many rounds do you have thru your CMMG?

+1 on the RRA 9mm buffer.  My carbines shoot much nicer with them.

Well, if you're feeling extravagant - I picked up an Enidine for the Beowulf and tried it in a 5.56. While the 5.56 doesn't kick all that much, with the Enidine you might think you're short stroking at first. It makes the 5.56 kick like a newborn pup.

I am a big fan of the MGI buffer. It works exceptionally well, although I have to say that Spikes new offerings are rather interesting.

anywhere from 800 - 1,000 and i've never shot more than 200 at a time due to the recoil it gets old very quick.

While I can't imagine a 5.56 carbine being "harsh", why don't you start basic and replace the recoil spring with a spring from Brownell's or Wolff's.  If that doesn't smooth things out, replace the buffer with a regular old "H" buffer.  Start basic before you go exotic.

MGI in my experience is the best for a DI gun with Enidine a close second, the best buffer spring will be either a Wolff extra power recoil spring or a Tubb flat wire spring.Im running the Enidine and Wolff combo right now.  Will be swapping over to the Tubb shortly.

I've found the Enidine to be the best for me with carbine springs from PK & now run them in all of my sticks.
