I have been doing some buying on the EE and I am close to building my upper. I want something that can make nice little groups. My question is, how much better is a billet upper? Does a billet upper improve accuracy? Do they work better with a matched upper and lower? Someone please shed some light on this before I drop money on one. Thank you.

Billet uppers are precision made so they typically fit perfectly with a billet matched lower (no slop) and have no manufacturing flaws (not out of spec, etc...). Other than that, they cost approx twice as much, look cooler and a little heavier than forged receivers I believe. Some say billet is tougher than forged and others say no.

With regard to fitment of the barrel extension ... I'd say you would have a better chance of a more precise fit with a billet uppper in comparison to a forged upper. This is said to be good for accuracy.

I can second the part about the fit of billet. My MEGA machine GTR-3H matched upper and lower I just got fit PERFECT... can't even slide a piece of paper between them and no wobble even with the tensioner screw backed all the way out

I can't really tell the difference in weight between the billet and forged with out a scale. It's kinda like comparing a 1080p and a 720p plasma TV with out them being side by side.
Other than the fit an finish....... no real benefit.

and Billet dose look AWESOME
