[ARCHIVED THREAD] - buffer and buffer spring on a AR15

I have a 20 in. barrel AR15 went to the range today and each time I fire the rifle you can hear the spring recoil
Was wondering if the spring or the buffer tube is shot. The buffer it self has a plastic end. I know in the Army we had a metal end and I don't remember hearing the spring each time I fire my A2 or my M4.
