can someone educate me on the actual differences between the buffer in a carbine and a rifle?  what about that of a midlength?

Rifle is long and weighs 5.5oz.

Carbine is short and weighs 3.5oz.

The buffer is different based on what stock you have, rather than what gas system you're running, though many people will typically run heavier carbine buffers than standard with carbine gas systems because most carbine gas uppers are "overgassed".

I too would like to know some more details.  I recently changed my buttstock from a solid A-2 style to a collapsable and had to change buffer tubes/springs/buffer.  I went from a 3:00 ejection to more of a 1:00 ejection and I wonder if it is o.k.  I know I have seen a graph somewhere that explained what to do if you wanted to change your ejection angle but I can't find it in a search.  I do not have very good luck with the search on here for some reason. I am worried it may be hard on the rifle?????

Sorry if I am highjacking your thread!!
