[ARCHIVED THREAD] - building/assembling a AR

Hi guys,

Fairly new to the AR seen.... I have one in 6.8 and would like to build another.
I am wondering if you can give me some information on any books, videos, etc. that can take me through a complete AR build.... lower and upper.

This is a good book

The build it yourself forum here has been priceless to me over the last couple years.
Truthfully nearly everything you ever need to know can be found on arfcom

Everything IS right here. However, if something gets confusing, there's a ton of YouTube videos that show a step-by-step build. Just be careful and look at a few of them so you don't get some 15yo Airsoft kid that took Daddy's AR apart.

+1 for this. I did my first build from a stripped upper and stripped lower following these instructions, and so far, the rifle has functioned 100%.
