i have a ace m4 socom stock..looks cool and is comfortable..i recently shot my friends ar with the standard a2 buttstock..quite a difference in felt recoil!! i liked his much better!!..which stocks are out there that give you that little to no felt recoil..like the a2..but look cool?

While it is not a fixed stock, I really like the LMT SOPMOD stock.

Is his gun a different configuration than yours?  That is to say, are you both shooting carbines with the same barrel lengths and gas systems?

That could make a huge difference in perceived recoil.  My 20" rifle doesn't kick nearly as much as my M4 length guns.

If both of your guns are the same mechanically, maybe it's just the mass of the A2 stock that you like?

I have yet to handle a collapsible stock that is as "solid" as the A2...unless you can find a Magpul UBR.

So, make sure your gun matches the one you shot, and if it does, you may need to just get an A2.  They may not be very tacticool, but they are solid, if a bit long.  And if it feels better, or helps you shoot better, it might be a "better" stock choice for you.

I don't think you could really tell the difference unless you swapped stocks and tried an A-B test with each gun.
