| hi guys wondering if c-more red dots are good to go? are they sturdy and reliable? thanks John |

Hmmm, I wonder if you guys actually have any experience with C-More sights. I have one, it's been on an 8 shot 357 magnum for many years. It is accurate, reliable and I have had zero problems with it. I had it mounted on my AR for awhile, no problems there either. I will say this, they eat expensive batteries. |
I have dealt with several. Did I own them? Thank G-d no! That really doesn't matter when you are the gun guy of your circle of friends. I got to try and make them work. Subject one was mounted on a M1A Tanker on the scout mount location. Zeroed 4 other rifles that day 20 rounds fired. Fired 20 just to get the Cmore to zero and stay zeroed when closing it up. The rifle rode around on the back seat of the truck for a week, and when taken out to fire again. Zero was lost. Subject two. I had learned when dealing with the first one. It was zeroed in 10 rounds. AR was put in buddy's safe for about two months and when it came out, not even on paper at 50 yards. Subject three customer drops an AR off with one that he can't get to zero. I get it zeroed. Tell him to treat it like it is made of fine china or he will lose zero. Got a call two weeks later from him, he bought an ML2. I am glad you have had good luck with yours. For the money there are more rugged sights available. |
Your experience is the exception and not the rule... how much hard use does a .357 get anyhow.... They are difficult to zero.. they have no click adjustments to make zeroing easier Drop one on the hard deck and find out just what "hard use "means.. and like you said, battery life blows... 3 gunners still like them (and can have them), there are much better options out there. Every wonder why your don't see a lot of pics of them.... that's a clue... |

I don't necessarily disagree. They are a very fast sight though. If I was going with a reflex sight of that nature, I would probably get a Mueller. Zero'ing them can be a pain and you must ensure that you tighten the locking screws back down. My .357 magnum, firing "major" power factor loads generated more recoil than an AR15 and I never lost zero, I also never lost zero on my AR, although it wasn't mounted there for long. That being said, it was only a temporary set-up. I just received an AIMPOINT 9000SC. I've got it mounted and co-witnessed (couldn't afford more expensive models) and will sight it in tomorrow. |
| Probably better choices for a working gun, but for game-guns, its fantastic. I had a number of C-Mores on open division 38 super raceguns, and one on my 3-gun AR, and I liked it a lot. It has the cleanest sight picture of all dot sights I have used. Zeroing was a bitch, but I experienced no zero-shifting problems, nor any reliability problems. |

Bought a used Bushy that has a C-More on it. Can't really say anything negative about it other than I agree with the above poster about being hungry for expensive batteries. One thing I really do like about it is that it's fast with a great field of vision and no way restricts your peripherals. And once dialed in, it has held its zero over many thousands of rounds. I probably wouldn't buy one if I was looking but living with one has been AOK for me. Think I'll try one of the new Trijicon Reflexes when if they ever make it to market. stumo |
