| Will carb cleaner take off copper? Will it melt plastic parts? |
You have a Glock DEchlorinated brake cleaner has not damaged my Glock frames, it does however remove the finish from AK lower handguards.

+1 I've got about 5k rounds through my G19 and I think I've cleaned it maybe...twice? And one of them was the initial cleaning. No degradation of accuracy or performance |
i used to ![]() as for the xd worries, i use it on my xd45 and xd 9 all the time. just be careful if yo have tro fiber optic sights. it will damage them. |

ALWAYS!!! they a smal amount of carb cleaner on a non conspicuoas surfacr first. i spray it on a qtip and rub it inside the handgurads or magwell. it will distrot the plastic a tiny bit if it's not compatible. it's usually things like cheap handguards that have issues. most handgun frams won't be a problem. it will also remove crappy paint finishes so always test it first. |

I clean my Glocks with hot water and dish soap. Use the hottest water you can get out of the tap, a toothbrush and dish detergent. No worries about damaging the plastic frame. By the way, I clean slide and all the same way. If you use real hot water and let the parts get hot, they will dry almost instantly. You can use a hair dryer if they don't dry quickly on their own. |
