i currently have a 20" barrel upper assembly.  i plan on changing my 20" upper for a 16" upper assembly.  can i use the old bolt and carrier assembly from the 20" upper to the new 16" upper?  or will this be a problem.

thanks for any info!

yeah, should be fine, as long as nothing has really high round counts

might not be a bad idea to get a bolt for the new barrel, then swap that with the uppers

I recommend against "sharing" a bolt between two uppers, but if you were selling the 20" upper and replacing it with a 16" upper, you should be fine.

"Sharing" a bolt will cause it to wear more because it "settles in" to each barrel after a couple hundred rounds.
