Does anyone make a sectional cleaning rod that will fit in the sopmod style stock battery compartment ? Or a stock with a battery compartment long enough to house the rods? wanted a full rod to clear stuck brass JIC, bore snake wont do that... thanks

Use tubing from a bicycle tire to "rubber band" the cleaning rod to the side of your rifle. Runs along the side of the receiver and handguards.
There was a how-to-do-it article on the net about this,,,,I will check

edit to ad: Found it.

none of mine have a handle that would even come close to fitting in a battery compartment.

i just leave an old brass rod in my rifle case for extraction issues.

Is there some particular reason you need to keep the rod on the weapon?  Are you expecting to fight the zombie apocalypse with no clothes on?

I keep a cleaning kit and armorers part kit for each AR. Took a Carbine class last year with a high round count and one of the two malfs I had was a stuck case. It was a brass factory rd that got stuck - here is the history on it- 114 degree heat, no shade 100% humidity and after 12 to 14 30rd mags the case stuck. No biggie. Weapon cooled and used a cleaning rod to knock it out.  Just thinking that it would be nice to have a cleaning kit in the stock of my M4(s) as I do the full stock A2(s). Any input from a RKI would be helpful......

I can definitely see wanting to have a rod around, but i think I'd rather have it on my web gear or in a range bag.  Hopefully, someone will chime in with a solution, though.

a308garand..... that was the solution i did when I was in the class with some ranger bands in case it happen again. As of now I am running a IDF 2 pt sling with a cleaning rod (minus the handle) and extra ear plugs in a pocket stitched into the fore end of the sling.  Thanks
