hay guys, i have a question. i have a cmmg .22lr converion kit, now i want a dedicated .22 upper for it, but i dont know weather to get a new upper ( from model 1 sales ) or a dedicated .22 upper?? so my questions are.
1) are the uppers from model 1 sales any good?
2) since it is going to be for a dedicated .22 upper can i use the conversion kit in a upper made for .22 only ?
any help would be appriciated. the conversion is just for plinking if that helps

I got a KKF custom dedicated brl with the proper 1-16 twist in an A1 style rifle now.  Unfortunately, Kurt passed away not too long ago so I am not sure who is doing brls now.  Hopefully I will get out this weekend and try it out.

M1S stuff is first rate. Buy a barrel and "collar", and use your existing conversion. The collar replaces the chamber insert part of your conversion to mate it with barrels from M1S or Spike's Tactical.
If you buy a whole upper from M1S without the bolt, they only discount $50.
If you have a stripped upper laying around, a barrel and collar would be the economical way to go, and you can switch the chamber insert back if you want to use the bolt in your .223 again, a 1 minute job.
