What's the differences between Colt and other collapsable stocks? I keep hearing that there are differences between them, and don't know what they are.

The big difference is that the dimensions of the receiver extension ("buffer tube") on Colts are mil spec.  This means that Bushy/RRA/everyone else's collapsing stocks won't fit on a Colt buffer tube.  Vltor and LMT are the only others I know of that make mil spec buffer tubes.  The reverse it true also: a Colt/Vltor telestock won't fit on a non-mil spec buffer tube.

ETA:  To clarify, when I say "won't fit", I mean it won't fit properly or it won't fit at all.

Bushy and RRA stocks are loose and will rattle on the Colt tube, while Colt/LMT stocks are too tight, will not go on the Bushy/RRA tubes at all (unless you take a hammer to it)
