can anyone tell me did they make a 4x 20 colt scope? I was told it was used by special forces.  I checked retroblackrifle.com and saw both new and old were both 3x20

not sure when they started selling the 4x scopes.  i think based on design that there was an overlap where the 3x and 4x were sold at the same time.  i believe they were sold until the mid 80s and maybe later.

depending on condition, $200-$300 is a fair price on one.

I found my 4x20 on gunbroker earlier this year, $299 in outstanding condition with box and papers.

Just to throw a monkey in the wrench, I've had both the 3x and 4x and actually prefer the 3x, longer eye relief, faster acquisition.
