I got to handle a dd rifle again today. Nice weapon by the way.
What I really liked about it was the railed hand guard. Does anyone know the height and width of that rail? I know I can only get one if someone takes it off their rifle. I'm pretty sure its worth hunting one down. |

On paper the difference between the Centurion c4 rail I have and the DD rail I want looks negligible, however the DD feels and looks much smaller in the hand. Thats a tough decision. |

Look closely at the diagrams tx1021 posted, and you'll note that the lower rail on the M4 is "shorter" than Lite or Omega. That subtly changes the way the rifle "points" and feels. When I field my carbine with the M4 rail, I notice I have to raise my front hand higher to achieve POA than the Omega rail on my other carbine. On balance, I like the Omega's feel better, but that's a chocolate vs. vanilla thing. GSM |
