I live in a less then 15 rds/mag state and was wondering if ADCO's single follower converts the 30rd mag into a one round mag? How does it work and why would someone want to buy this? http://www.adcofirearms.com/acc/ProductLine2.cfm?brand=Schuster&page=acc |
It does NOT alter the capacity to the point where it would be legal in a 15 round state. Why? It's a competition thing. When shooting match stages that require single loading (i.e. CMP/highpower), it makes it much easer to drop a round through the ejection port and push it into the chamber. Personally, I like one from Sinclair because it's molded using a bright yellow plastic that's easier to distinguish at a glance from the standard aluminum alloy followers. It would fit in a 30, but in reality they're only used in 20s because 30s are too long to shoot comfortably in the prone position. |
| The single round followers are also specifically made for applications where the oal (length) of the round is too long to fit in the magazine. For really long range shooting, most shooters use 80-100gr bullets. I think that the longest (available) bullet that will seat into a magazine are the 77 gr (maybe up to 80) bullets. |
