Clydes Armory, one of the big on-line retailers is showing the 6920 in stock, although the price has gone up $20 to $1249.  Just got back from a local retail shop (in Scottsdale) and they had a wall of Colts of various configurations. The 6920 is $1599 there.

Colt does not sell to individual dealers, only to distributors.

Many shops are often more or less too lazy to order one from a distributor, they are not hard to find at all.  Shops just don't really make as much of a profit on them, and many prefer just not to carry them.

No offense, but if you have to put one on layaway in order to get one, you should probably consider a more affordable rifle.  At least that way you can buy some ammo and stuff.

That being said, I have a 6920 and I highly recommend it.  I'm not exactly sure where but I commonly hear about people finding them online for $1100 - 1200.

Go on-line to Buds and put one on Layaway there. They don't have them now but get you one I'm sure. Here's the site and bythe way the 6920 is the most popular. I love mine!

Let us know what they say!

Good Luck.

For me, layaway has nothing to do with affordability - it has everything to do with convenience.

Putting my 6920 on layaway allowed to to pick up a few key items in the EE and order items from LaRue and Magpul.
Everything is paid for and it will all come together at Clyde's next week.

Finding quality ammo in bulk is my next challenge...

Not to hijack the thread but does anyone know why the 9621 is so much more expensive than say a Bushmaster M4?

Not really, he has stated he would be in favor of taking every firearm he could and basically abolishing the 2nd amendment. The guy is a certified socialist/communist.

I personally support Obama, and sadly I know that will mean a president more in support of anti-gun legislation and while this may or may not mean another AWB, I'd rather be safe than sorry.

At least he's being honest, but as CJ said, you'll have not place whining when they take your guns away.

Ok, well, thank you to the people who offered some ideas on where they'd be available.  I don't think I'll visit this thread again b/c I think I may start getting flamed for mentioning who I support

If you think that was flaming you are sadly mistaken. And lest you forget, YOU brought up who you were supporting, not anyone here so you need to accept that you'll catch a bit of flak.

I have to say tho, I wonder why, even tho you want an AR and understand BO wants to ban them if he had his way, would you vote for someone who is opposite of your belief?

I support Obama.....

I also like sticking hot nails in my eye,  chewing on broken glass,  swinging my kids over shark tanks,  driving with no seat belt on the highway,  drinking drano with dinner, and a whole laundry list of other crap that makes absolutely no sense and is bad for me.

Supporting him is like telling your drunk uncle he's OK to drive after he's downed a fifth of 'Jack'.   You know what's going to happen, so why would you do it?

The man hates America, wants to strip us of our rights, wreck the economy (with socialized everything) and flat out tells us he's going to do it.   MORONS.

Seriously, this is such a big issue to most of us that if you were to admit that you were going to vote for Hillary or Obama to me in person, the converstion would be over between us. You are either with us or against us! If you are against us then you are considered my enemy.  Anyway I was going to offer you up a hot link to a great buy on a 6920 but you can disregard!

Looks like the OP doesn't want anything to do with his own thread anymore. He  deleted all his posts.

I would too if I admitted to supporting the gun-grabbers on a firearms enthusiast site.

To the OP, support who you want, it's your right to vote for who you want....at least for now.
