The VIS is a monlithic upper, while the MUR is a modular upper receiver.

The MUR is a normal-type of upper with the modular part being optional forward assist and/or shell deflector.

So the VIS is the answer to LMT
and the MUR is for accuracy freaks.

One is a complete MRP upper, minus the barrel. The VIS.

The MUR is simply a milled aluminum upper receiver. It makes a stronger, zero-flex platform. Not that a standard AR upper receiver is bad....but the VLTOR is just better...more robust.

You have seen photos of both? They pretty much answer your question visually.
