i just bought a new stag 1L and i am not sure if i like the iron sights. trying to sight it in at 25yds 3-4 inch group all around the center of the paper ( I can do the same with my AK) no big deal. When i go to 50yds. i am constantly shooting about 6-8 inches to the right (with the AK i still hold a 3-4 inch group around the center) so i have to blame something for this. my question is are there any sights for the AR that are kind of like the AK. thank you |
| No, that would be a huge step backwards so noone makes them because there is no market for them. Are you using the small aperature? What BUIS are you using? Your group should also be 1" in size or smaller at 25 yards... if not that is your own poor shooting causing your issues or something is VERY wrong with your rifle. It IS possible you can switch aperatures and not have the appropriate side offset to the small aperature due to some kind of screw up on the manufacturer's part but that is a very rare flaw for an iron sight. |
| yes i am using the small apertureon the BUIS. i am using the BUIS that came on the carry handle. i realize that my expertise or lackthere of of my grouping is not the best, it is just that i sighted in my AK the same way i am doing this and just cannot get it down. i am not using any shooting rest or anything just sitting at a bench and resting my elbows on it to balance the rifle. |

sighting in i would reccomend using a rest, after your rifle is your true zero then work on your marksmanship to match your true zero. also consider sighting in options for the ranges you want to fire, read this groups.msn.com/TheMarylandAR15ShootersSite/improvedbattlesightzero.msnw |
