I picked up the 4x with flip to side mount last year and haven't been disappointed. I might go with the 3x as it is lighter and doesn't take up much rail space. Also it is a good idea to use a thread lock glue as the screws do tend to come loose after awhile.

I wouldn't say the glass is as good as the eotech or aimpoint. But I think it is much better than lower priced competitors such as sightmark or mako. The reason I chose it was it was about the only model between the cheap and higher end. One thing to note is that when using the eotech(not sure about aimpoint) that the red dot will stay the same size when viewed through a magnifier. The cheaper versions do not use this technology so your red dot will be magnified by three times when looking through it. This has never been a big deal for me but something to think about. I think I picked up the 4x magnifier with fts mount on ebay for $300.
