Looking for a 16inch 1/9 twist with rifle length hand guards. Prefer a light profile barrel but honestly don't care what it is. This would be to replace the standard 16 inch upper on my Bushmaster so I am not sure if the gas system needs to be any different. I don't understand the mid length concept.

I have tons of M193 with no heavier ammo so yes I want the 1/9 twist before everyone jumps on that.

I know CMMG has something similar but do not want 1/7 twist.

I'd imagine it is 5.56 if it is a Bushmaster barrel.

My current Bushmaster is marked .223 (on the receiver) but has shot 5.56 quite well.  Only a small amount of Wolf .223 but it has been 100% as well.  I wouldn't see this barrel being any different.

This is a daily carry rifle on the farm and I was thinking the longer area for the grip would be more useful.

What is your goal, exactly?  Just more sight radius or railestate?  If so, you can just use your barrel, shave the gas block, and use a 12" to 15" rail with a front iron sight and call it a day.

Sight radius and increased area to hold onto.

Didn't think of adding a rail for the same effect. Sure would be cheaper.  Definitely need to look at the options.

Useful advice.
