[ARCHIVED THREAD] - drill bits for 80%

Does anyone have recomendations for a set of drill bits that will cut cleanly for safety and trigger holes? Or will any old brand from home depot work? I'm working with a pre anodized lower and dont want to have to clean up any major blemishes i may cause.

Selector is 3/8" and if you get Home Depot bits, then .156" (5/32) for hammer and trigger pins. If you get good bits, then .154" (#23) for trigger and hammer pins. I drill selector 3/8" then ream to .376" (3/8 + .001")

Even in a milling machine with center drilled pilot hole a 3/8" drill will drill over size. If you want a .376" hole you need to start with a smaller drill than .375" then ream. A U letter drill or even a 23/64" can be reamed to .376" you can use a .375" reamer the safety is often undersize and will fit fine.

BrokenArmory.com has some really unique and custom bits for use in milling an 80%. They also have a really nice jig with depth gauges and notations of all sorts on the jig. When i get around to building an 80% thats where I am going to get all my stuff.
