it's tough to say there is an entry level laser,  just because a laser sells for cheap doesn't mean it's entry level but more of a sign it's junk, at least for use on a weapon.  Things to look for are the company who makes it, are they a reputable company, is there a warrinty and is it recommended for weapon use.  Most of the good lasers aren't cheap, your looking at a low end of $200 up to well over $500.  Anything from Laser Devices is great, they have lasers in the low 200's and all the way up but their cheaper lasers are made very well.  I'm not sure if it's out yet but Lasermax is coming out with an extremely small weapon mounted laser that looks promising and I beleive it will sell for a pretty affordable price.

I would stay away from anything made in China which will look like a great deal but in the end with be pretty much worthless.  Contact Calvin at BrightFlashlights he sells a few different lasers and will have extremely good prices on them.  If you want to stay at the low end of pricing ask Calvin about Laser Devices LAS/TAC or look around for the Lasermax one, there was a thread about it not to long ago.  If you want a more expensive one look at an OTAL or ITAL and one that is about $100 less then those but very similar is the AR-2A.

If you need more info just ask, I'm not an expert on lasers (far from it) but if you need more info just ask and hopefully I'll be able to answer it and if not I'm sure there are many here who can

good luck

The Lasermax, rail mounted laser is out, I assume that is the one you are talking about that  is basially a flat, rail mounted box with another rail mount machined into it to stack devices?

One of the vendors at the last Des Moines show had them for ~175 if I remember right.

The Lasermax is out...I inquired about one to Calvin @ BrightFlashlights, he has them at $149....I'd recommend contacting him for any light/laser questions you have. He's knowledgeable and his customer service is excellent.
