[ARCHIVED THREAD] - eotech 512 vs. 552

does anyone know if the 552 is tougher than the 512? i'm not planning on buying night vision, so i don't need that aspect of the 552, but i see in the specs that the 552 is more waterproof, so maybe it's just built a bit tougher in general? thanks.

I don't know if it matters, as I haven't had mine underwater, but I've had my 512 out in some fairly heavy rain, and it didn't have any problems, and hasn't since.

About the same. If your not going with NV then get the 512 (you won't know the difference).

If you're not going NV, go 512. I kicked the same idea around before I got one and decided that I was just plain not gonna need the NV settings and the corresponding $60 or more price tag.

I love my 512 and I might get another in the next couple months.
