I have a Aimpoint T-1. I went with it because it's the lightest I could find. I run it with a 1/3 cowitness on a standard fixed FSB. I have no problem with quick aquisition (don't need the big ring the eotech has. go hold a t-1 next to any eotech and feel the difference. I was sold on the t-1 right way.
So, my opinion: AIMPOINT!AIMPOINT!AIMPOINT!AIMPOINT!AIMPOINT!AIMPOINT!AIMPOINT!AIMPOINT!AIMPOINT!AIMPOINT!AIMPOINT!AIMPOINT!AIMPOINT!AIMPOINT!AIMPOINT!AIMPOINT! |

I just recently got an Aimpoint Comp M2 4 MOA. Up until then I only used Eotech 516s. I have never had a problem with the Eotechs durrability or battery even on a .50 Beowulf durring rapidfire
I like the AImpoint because of it s battery and tested ruggedness. But, The Aimpoint has a very small selection of visible brightness settings(like 2 in sunlight and 1 super bright) compaired to the Eotech wich has a very bright 1 MOA and alot of visible settings ,The Aimpoint is nowhere near as accurate or easy as easy to aquire the dot as an Eotechs 1 MOA inside a 65 MOA circle(wich can be used for range estimation). Since I have switched to the AImpoint , my accuracy at 50 yards and up has suffered a bit. In a SHTF situation I would probably go Aimpoint mainly due to 10 year batteries and rugedness(not to say the Eotech isn't rugged). But for HD , CQB, target shooting/hunting or general all around use under 200 yards I would take the Eotech any day. I realize neither one is a long range optic but I feel the Eotech is more precise under 200 yrds. I also used to read how much bigger the Eotechwas (like a big screen TV) .. Don't beleive it! the Comp m2 on a QRP2 mount has a larger profile than an Eotech 516. If I could afford it i would get an AImpoint MIcro in an offset mount with an ACOG or use my Eotech with a G23 .FTS 3x wich works realy good, but I had to sell the magnifier due to a torn rotator cuff I needed money for n MRi
If the Eotech ever gets a battery that can last 10 years Aimpoint will be dead to me. |

But if Aimpoint and Eothingy are the choices, Aimpoint purely on battery life. I haven't turned mine off since I got it. |
