It says 85 for 2-5. Above posts say effective Feb 1st. Either way I'll still buy two.

Thanks,

how can essential arms sell their lowers at such a low price while everyone else's sells for around 110-130? what do they do to keep them at a low price?

They make them in-house.

Just got my EA lower today and made it and my Del Ton M4 kit one EA lower is of very nice quality. Didn't run into any spec problems at all and the finish was pretty good. Matched the color of the Del Ton upper 100%.. Couldn't tell them apart.

They are a small Mom and Pop operation. I'm guessing low overhead. I can't recommend them enough.

I'm thinking of putting together my first AR and will probably get an Essential Arms lower and a Del-Ton M4 kit.  Did you get the hard anodized finish or pay the $3 extra for their Tough Coat finish?

Thanks,
BJS

The tough coat black will match just about any upper you will buy. Spend the $3 is my advice.

That's good to know. While I have absolutely no beef against EA, I did notice that the finish(the finish, not the color) wore off pretty quick near the mag release button(trigger discipline). But other than that, they are freakin' good to go! I'm going to order 2 more as soon as I pay off my traffic tickets. Damn Bike!

I went the same route. Checked out many of the forum postings and decided on EA. I received the lower from my FFL in less then 7 days. I installed a RRA LPK, Bravo Company 6-position CAR Buttstock & Magpul Enhanced Trigger Guard. I just purchased a CAR4 RRA complete upper from Pete (Legal Transfers), Ambi Sling Adapter, Tactical Single from Brownells and BUIS from Dynamic Armament. I will post pictures when I complete the AR.

Unless you're planing on Duracoating or otherwise painting the lower, get the toughcoat.

They got some of my money today.  I ordered 2 and a friend has already talked me out of 1!  Can't wait to see them.

Thought I'd reply here and ask my questions instead of creating a new thread..

1. How's their customer service?

2. I was thinking of getting their kit (A5) with the lower parts and buttstock- does it include     the buffer tube? (Can't call from work, they're closed before I get home)

3. Shipping costs? If it's a lot, AIM has a lot of stuff for 1c shipping charge.....but EA parts a re a lot cheaper..mainly the lower receiver.

PS I am going crazy comparing prices/shipping/FFL transfer fee for all the AR parts-versus buying locally and paying sales tax. It's probably all going to even out in the end, but if I can save $5, I will. That's about half a box of ammo!

1. They seem nice enough on the phone.  They are not real tech savvy so don't expect to be able to reach them via email.

2.  Not sure but I would assume buttstock means the entire assembly.

3.  Shipping was $15.  I think you can get it for less if you are ordering some small parts but expect $15 on a regular order.

Their customer service is excellent. I had a problem with my rear take-down pin,I thought the reciever was a little out of spec(it wasn't)so they sent me a couple rear pins to see if it made a difference. I don't know if the pin made a difference because when I put the detent back in,I put it in using the other side and it works great now!
I'm assuming that you're getting the LPK(Lower Parts Kit) from them. It should come with everything you need(except the lower receiver, unless your getting it from them).

Six posts since July of 01, you post whore

J/K, if you work hard for your money there is no shame in trying to save a few dollars. Good luck with your build.

Yeah, there was this "dead period" when I stupidly sold my AR15 (Bushmaster XM15e2s "during ban" rifle.) Didn't post hardly at all here, then sold it.

Now I am kicking myself since it will cost quite a bit to get back to where I was. I could have sold/traded the upper and kept the lower, upgrading/swapping parts.....but it will be fun to build another one myself.

I did, however, somehow forget about 500 rounds of xm193 I had squirreled away since '03. Even kept the receipt-at the time, I thought $110 for 500 rounds was a little too much...If only I knew then what I know now...

I just finished assembling a black toughcoat Essential Arms lower with lower parts kit (total of $148) - no problems, now I just have to decide on a stock.

Nice finish, very minor machining marks on the front of the mag well, none on the grip area.  Drop-free with PMags and USGI aluminum magazines.

Ordered by phone, quick shipping ($15), next time I should order several lowers from them
