I bought from a freind a  Bushmaster model xm15-e2s. The extractor spring does not have the rubber insert that the manual specifically says DO NOT LOSE! My question is was this rifle origanally made without one in it or was it lost? If It should be there...where do I get one? Thanks for any input.

Yes, it was there when it left Bushmaster.  More likely than not, it will function fine without it.  Call Bushmaster @ 1-800-883-6229 and see if they will send you one.

Bushmaster used to sell extractor springs with no insert. Most were black colored some just steel colored. Kind of depends on how old it is if it had a insert or not.

This gun is working on it's 6th year but has only been cleanead once. Manufacturing changes was one of my main concerns. Thank you for your input.
