This is my very first AR-15...  the funny part is I was on a strict budget, but that didn't last very long. I actually went 1 or 2 hundred over my limit but OH WELL we all know how that goes. I even gave it all the OD furniture.  But no optics because I need to get more familiar with Iron sights for when I get shipped off to MCRDSD in June. The place where the lower was engraved messed up on my name if you look closely right above my name on the bulge ( I don't know what to call it) you can see the top part of the letters that spell my name.  Over all I am more than pleased with my new rifle.  Also if anyone knows how to zero in a fixed sight without elevation let me know that would be greatly appreciated.  And thanks to my Uncle who took time out of his schedule to help me assemble the lower.

Nice...

Looks almost just like my first build when I thought I was "done" with it.  Now it looks much different but still rather simple in my eyes.

So you have any specs?

Welcome to the site.  I believe that Larue has a qd fixed rear sight with no elevation for around 80 or 90 bucks.  Check'em out.

Sorry to bring this down a notch, but who did you're engraving? And I hope you called and bitched, or stopped payment on the check?!

I know it's yours, so if it don't bother you so be it. but if that were mine I'd be HOT!

Looks Damn fine otherwise, you did a great job on it!

And thanks for your (upcoming) service. You got balls my man!

Ruckus

ETA. The "Hump" is known as the Fence. Or magazine release button fence.

I didn't get it engraved, my Uncle did. I don't know what the place is called but I know it is in Texas.

BTW... Can anyone tell me how to zero in the troy sight I have in the picture. All the instructions Ive found are for the carry handle sights with elevation. Thanks

Troy's rear sight doesn't have elevation adjustment. Use the front sight for that. Rear for windage. Similar to early A1 sights.

Enjoy the rifle.

Looks great! Not to bash, but you may want to get a carry handle and familiarize yourself with that sight since that is what you will be using at boot.
