Ditto Doughboy on the Vice block... Would hate to see you torque the barrel and then "crack" an upper... Nice to know if you ever take a barrel off, that you have the tools to safely do so. Trust me you'll get your money back. This is a HORRIBLE Disease.... You can't build just one... Pretty soon you'll stop feeding your kids and will use anything as an excuse to build another; "Oh look - the sun just came up. I think I'll build another, just to celebrate" Kind of where I'm at Two thumbs up on this one from Fulton-armory... http://www.fulton-armory.com/actionblockcombokitforupperandlowerreceiver.aspx good luck.. |

If you're going to build carbines you would definitely need a carbine stock wrench, take a look at Brownells for a good selection.
Same as the other members said, here's some more suggestions: upper receiver action block large to medium shop table vise barrel vise jaws medium/ large ball peen hammer, I also use a small brass hammer for delicate installation of roll pins pin punch set long nose pliers large hollow ground tip screwdriver FSB cradle block pivot takedown pin installation tool allen/ torx wrenches for accessories and mounting optics strap wrench if you're going to install a free floating rails with a large mounting ring like the LaRue or similar to it It's up to you what you need, I got most of it but not all, if you're handy sometimes you could make your own home made tool, I got most of my tools from Brownells, Bravo Company, and ADCO. |
