| i bought my first ar two months (stag 1L) ago and put roughly 1000 rounds through it at a conservative pace(the range i shoot at does not allow "rapid fire") Background: this morning at the range brand new pmags with 55 gr. sp wolf ammo- no problems with about 140 rounds. this afternoon i was at a buddy's cabin where i could really rapid fire--first and second pmag with same ammo no problem, third mag i was shooting conservatively and the third round jammed. I pulled the bolt back to eject the jammed round and noticed that the previous round was not extracted. when i brought the rifle home i pulled it apart, got the shell out but now i notice that my barrel is loose from the upper that i don't remember being there. when i put it back together i dry cycled the same ammo with the same mags through it and had consecutive jams with one round even coming apart as extracted. what are your thoughts? thanks |
That scares the hell outta me. Either headspace is wrong and bullet is chambering into the rifling or there is something in the chamber that does not belong there. look at the jacket of the bullets do you see any marks from rifling or obstruction. Did you change ammo? The ammo might be out of spec. Reloads? If you cannot find the problem I would bring it to a gunsmith QUICK. Hope this helps |
But wait a minute, Wolf is garbage. You are being a Scott. I also disagree your rifle that wont run wolf is garbage. |
You should go back under the rock you came out from. Crap ammo is crap ammo. |

Did you take the barrel off of the upper? If it was really loose and you took it completely apart you need to contact Stag. If it is loose but you didn't take it apart you still need to contact Stag. It seems to me the Wolf ammo was working just fine. If the barrel nut came loose then it will eventually cause any ammo to jam. |
