[ARCHIVED THREAD] - first lower assembly, quick question

im building my first lower, i read in the sticky that you can break the "ear" off the lower while putting on the trigger guard and to brace it.

how do you guys support the lower "ear", with a purchased block like i've seen online or with wood? would wood even work?

im just paranoid with ruining my lower, any help or tips would be great.

And make sure that it stays firmly against the wood as well. Otherwise it could still flex and break. Also be sure to use small taps rather than big hits.
