| Who makes a good one or should I be looking for a suppressor? |

Do you want to hide the muzzle signature like the military style flash hiders do? Then get a regular old A2 or a Smith Vortex FH.
Do you want something that will reduce recoil and muzzle rise like a competition gun? Get a Battle comp, Spikes Dynacomp, or Griffin comp. These do not hide the flash as well and tend to be louder to the sides. Do you want something that REALLY reduces recoil and muzzle rise, and pisses off people next to you? Get a brake. My favorite if the Rainer mini comp. I run this on a 18" scoped rifle as it tames the felt recoil and allows me to stay on target. |

maybe the OP is thinking of "flash hiders" and "flash suppressors."
I recall that it was explaiuned that a FH is a cone-shaped device intended to hide the flash from the shooter's vision. a FS suppresses the flash from an y perspective. most modern devices, if not all, are the FS typre. |
