If you want a comp thats one ot look at but for a flash hider it is less effective than a regular A2 and an A2 flash hider is nowhere near as effective as a Phantom, Vortex, or Blackout.

I just got my FCS556 the other day and it was very easy to install with just an adjustable wrench and 4 spare minutes. Took it out and let me tell you this thing controlled my muzzle rise beyond my expectations. I could easily fire double taps while barely holding onto the rifle. I didn't notice any extra blast or loudness over the A2 that was on the rifle originally. Looking at the muzzle in daylight, I was barely able to see any flash and I haven't tried it out in the dark yet but I see no reason to doubt the video that is on their web site. I know that it doesn't control the flash as much as the Smith Vortex or the A2, but I really don't think i'll be getting into a pitched gun battle in the dark any time soon. Even if I do, i'll be happy that my muzzle rise is considerably less than the other guys. I plan on getting another one soon for my wife's AR. This thing rocks!!!
