[ARCHIVED THREAD] - forward assist?

I am looking at buying a a complete upper for varmint hunting and target plinking, and i was wondering if you all feel that a forward assist is necessary? Would it be used enough to justify? I can save some money on my upper if i believe i can live without it. Thanks for help in advance.....Josh

You don't *need* it. Might make it more convenient in case of the zombie invasion though.
