| I am storing some guns in my safe long term. Being worried about rust, I have a golden rod. But should I also store them in gun socks? Have heard good and bad. Heard some silicon socks will have the stuff run down the sock to bottom and leave gun unprotected. Also, heard reports of them attracting moisture! |
| I think they're great. I've never had a rust problem in my safe but my safe does feel a bit crowded sometimes and guns bump into each other. A gun sock is just cheap protection against dinging them up. Brownells and midway both sell a thick one called the "bore store" thats only like $8 I think |

BIG +1 for the Bore Stores! I've been using these for, shit I think over 10 yrs now, and not a single hint of rust on any of my firearms, knives, and parts. Those are the best things that I've ever used. Considering where I live and the amount of rain we get that says A LOT! |
| I am using socks right now. I have been checking my rifles very regular to see if anything looks wrong. So far they are working just fine. I really like them for the ding protection like the other poster. I would say use them, but do frequent checks to make sure. |
