| I want to build a car for my first build i am going to get a kit. i want to go with a yhm hand guard but i don't know if i want to go with the free float or the 2 piece. To get a free float on I have to take off the front sight, that intimidates me. A 2 piece would be much easier, right? or am i missing something ? I don’t like the looks of the 2 piece. Also do you have to get a hand guard tool to take them off or can you just pull back against the delta ring and twist? Any advice will help and the tutorials I have found don’t show very well in that dept |
| For a FF install you need to remove your muzzle device & FSB unless you get a two piece FF set. For the the two piece FF's all you have to do is cut off the delta ring assembly. If you run a two piece non-FF rail system you just replace your existing hand guards with the two piece set. You pull the delta ring down with your fingers or you can use a hand guard removal tool to remove or install two piece sets that are not FF. |

unless you need a FF tubing, i'd just consider the 2 piece--easy, no tools to install check this link for installation FF help: www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=3&f=4&t=226782 you will need some specialized tools for the FF installation--strap wrench, vice, reciever block, etc if you want a FF tube w/ the lease hassle, check out MI's FF tubes |
